


Flavia Pereira is a professor, coach, researcher, and health professional with over 17 years of experience in education, athletics, and human performance. She is currently a faculty member at Keiser University, where she teaches and mentors the next generation of health and exercise science professionals, while actively engaging in research on sports nutrition and performance.
Flavia specializes in nutrition, strength and conditioning, and athlete health optimization, with particular expertise working with volleyball and soccer athletes. She serves as a Nutrition Specialist with both RAPID Health Optimization and Absolute Rest, applying evidence-based strategies to support athletes and clients in achieving peak performance and recovery.
Her academic journey includes a Master of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Florida Atlantic University and ongoing doctoral studies at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, where she is pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences.

Dr. Lonnie Lowery, PhD, LD (Ret), FIISN is an exercise physiologist, retired licensed nutritionist (LD), and consulting business owner. He has served on the exercise physiology and/or nutrition-dietetics faculty at four institutions. His early doctoral work centered on uncommon dietary fats; he currently studies coffee, dietary protein, and health. He holds a certificate in Digital Marketing from Harvard Business School Online and is an SCA-certified barista. He is a long-time podcaster (Iron Radio – Nutrition Radio Network) and has written for over 100 nutrition or fitness publications. Dr. Lowery is past President of the American Society of Exercise Physiologists, and a Fellow of the International Society of Sports Nutrition.

Dr. Andrew Jagim, PhD is currently the Director of Sports Medicine Research for the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin. His primary research area focuses on how various nutrition and exercise-related strategies influence the performance and health of athletes. Dr. Jagim’s research is also focused on the physiological demands of various sports and tactical professions and how they pertain to injury, recovery status, and performance. This work has led to over 130 publications in peer-reviewed journals and the receipt of the Nutrition Researcher of the Year award from the National Strength & Conditioning Association in 2020.
Andrew is also a certified strength & conditioning specialist and a certified sports nutritionist through the and has worked as a consultant for a variety of clients and athletes.

Korey Van Wyk, MS, CSCS, Pn2 currently serves as Specialist Acquisitions Editor at Cognella Academic Publishing, designing nutrition and exercise science resources for higher education and professionals. He also teaches as an adjunct instructor, contributes as medical reviewer and writer for Hone Health, and presents regularly at interdisciplinary conferences. Previously, he worked as acquisitions editor at Human Kinetics and professor of practice at Northwestern College.

Diana Nguyen, RDN/LDN, CSSD, CSCS is a Contract Performance Dietitian at Ft Bragg and works to support combat readiness, health, and career longevity for service members. Prior to her time with the Special Operations community, Diana worked in collegiate athletics for 12 years, first as a Graduate Assistant at Virginia Tech, then serving as the Assistant Director for Performance Nutrition at Texas A&M University, and most recently as the Director of Sports Nutrition at NC State University. Diana is also the owner of Tier One Nutrition LLC, (formerly Nguyen With Nutrition LLC), which focuses on performance nutrition education for first responders and tactical professionals as well as competitive athletes.
Nguyen earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Virginia Tech. She completed her dietetic internship at the University of Virginia Health System in 2008. She is a Registered/Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN/LDN), Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). She is heavily involved in various professional organizations and has served on the Board of Directors for the American Sports Performance Dietitians Association (formerly CPSDA) as the Chair of Research and Education.

Sean Casey, RD, CSCS is a registered dietitian, movement specialist, and proactive health coach with over 20 years of experience helping individuals achieve excellence in health, performance, and life. He has worked with clients across all levels—from middle and high school athletes to elite professionals, including Olympians, as well as everyday people striving to perform at their best. His expertise is sought internationally, having traveled to more than 15 countries to help clients reach their peak potential. This global experience continues to shape an adaptable coaching style—one that fits different cultures, time zones, and ways of living.
Sean’s passion for optimizing performance health extends beyond sport and into the business world. He has delivered workshops for banks, schools, and community organizations, and has presented at national conferences and regional clinics. Sean has extensive experience working in the proactive healthcare space as well, focusing on root cause and lifestyle approaches to optimize health.
Sean co-founded and currently serves as the Chief Science Officer at the Sports Pharmacy Network.
