Established in 2022 with the goal of providing physicians, coaches, athletic trainers, and sports teams with up-to-date information based on scientific research and practical application for peak athletic performance. Sports Pharmacy Magazine is published bimonthly (every other month) and all articles undergo a strict review process by our editorial board.

The Sports Pharmacy Network blog is available online and does not have a strict publication timeline or criteria. This is a great opportunity for novice writers or students who are passionate about Sports Pharmacy, but may feel intimidated by the more stringent process of publishing in the Sports Pharmacy Magazine.

The selection of articles for publication is a meticulous and multifaceted process that ensures the quality and relevance of the content in our magazine. Our primary goal is to provide our readers with informative, engaging, and thought-provoking articles that align with the magazine’s focus topic and can be applicable to Sports Pharmacy practice. Here’s a detailed description of how articles are chosen for publication:
Submission and Review: We invite writers from all career fields that support athletes’ health. Submissions can cover a wide range of topics, but we will prioritize those that are related to our current magazine’s focus topic. Authors can see what upcoming magazine’s topics on the Call for Articles page.
Editorial Screening: Each submitted article undergoes an initial editorial screening. The editorial team checks for basic criteria such as word count, grammar, and adherence to our submission guidelines. Articles that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.
Quality Assessment: The next step involves a thorough evaluation of the article’s quality. Our team assesses the writing style, clarity, coherence, and overall structure. Articles with exceptional writing and alignment with the mission of Sports Pharmacy Magazine are more likely to be selected for publication.
Relevance to Focus Topic: To align with the magazine’s focus topic, we carefully consider the subject matter and theme of each article. We prioritize those that directly relate to our current issue’s central theme. However, we may also accept outstanding articles that offer unique perspectives or tie tangentially to the focus topic. Authors can see what upcoming magazine’s topics on the Call for Articles page.
Expertise and Credibility: For articles requiring subject-matter expertise, we evaluate the author’s qualifications and credibility in the given field. Articles by renowned experts (based on author’s education, experiences, certifications, etc.) are more likely to be selected.
Editing and Revision: Once an article is chosen for publication, our editorial team may work closely with the author to enhance the piece further. This collaborative process ensures that the content meets our high editorial standards.
Final Selection: After a rigorous evaluation, the best-written and most relevant articles are selected for publication in our magazine. The final lineup is designed to provide readers with a rich, informative, and engaging experience that reflects a current focused topic in Sports Pharmacy.
Publication Schedule: The selected articles are scheduled for publication based on the magazine’s editorial calendar. We aim to maintain a consistent flow of high-quality content for our readers and publish a new magazine every other month.
All accepted articles will undergo editorial revision and formatting before publication.
Additionally, a final proof will be sent to the contributing author for final review before publication. Any revisions to the final proof must be sent to the editorial team within 48 hours.
Authors must submit a biography and photo to be included with their article.
